Lieutenant Colonel Homero Rodriguez Garcia "Ray", born in Puente Nacional, Santander, married to Luz Zoraida Navarrete, sons Juan Carlos, Camilo Ernesto (qepd), Homer Daniel; Bachelor of the Salesian College Maldonado in 1961, promoted to Sub-lieutenant on December 14, 1963, Professional in Military Sciences, Staff Officer, with the specialties of Lancer, Military Expert Paratroper  and Free Fall , Military Police, Long distance recon, Counter guerrillas, Military Intelligence , Psychological Operations, Urban Combat, Special Forces, Civil Affairs, Asymmetric Warfare, Terrorism, Dignitaries Security, Crisis Management, Anti-kidnapping, Internal Control, Conflict Resolution, Green Beret of the United States Army, Graduated from the National Academy Of the FBI in Quantico Virginia, Instructor of Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law, Military Teacher of Second category.

 

He served in different units of the Army including as Director of the Army Intelligence School, Director of the Military School of  NCO Sergeant Inocencio Chincà, and Deputy Director of the Higher Intelligence Academy of the DAS. Platoon commander among others in the Colombia Battalion, Presidential Guard, School of Lancers, Commander of companies of Counter guerrillas, Company of Special Forces Airmobile, Executive and Second Commander of Battalion Voltigeros and Airborne Battalion  General Serviez, Commander of Airborne Battalion  Rifles, Official of General Staff  of the Multinational Peace Keeping Force (MFO) in Sinai (Egypt) as a member of the Colombian Battalion No 3.
